Obama says sexism will plague Clinton presidency as the new incarnation of birtherism on Samantha Bee segment urging millennials to vote

President Obama appeared on Full Frontal with Samantha Bee on Halloween, urging millennials to get out and vote by saying a Trump presidency could be the scariest thing of all.

Obama shared that his daughter Malia, 18, had already cast her vote for the first time ever before making his case that Hillary Clinton’s policies on climate change or making college affordable would be particularly important for young people.

The two also addressed the sexism stacked against Clinton, with Obama saying accusations like ‘She’s tired, she’s moody, she’s being emotional,’ would be the new form of birtherism used to discredit her.

But they also managed to squeeze in a number of laughs, with Bee asking whether Obama had spray painted his hair white as part of a Halloween costume.

Bee kicked off the interview by declaring: ‘This year I’m going as a witch’, to which Obama helpfully pointed out, ‘That’s not a witch costume.’

Bee shot back: ‘I’m a woman on television and I’m over 40 so I’m already in costume. Where’s yours?’

Obama, on the other hand, said he was dressed up as ‘what happens when young people vote’.

After Bee cracked a joke about his rapid aging, Obama made a plea to first-time voters to ‘build on progress’.

The TV show host then displayed an impressive grasp of vocal fry, pretending to be a millennial while Obama could barely contain his laughter.

‘Young people have a bigger stake in this election than anybody. I would hope that you’d be willing to take about the same amount of time that you spend looking through cat videos on your phone to make sure that democracy’s working,’ he implored.

Bee then addressed the prejudices both Obama and Clinton have faced, asking the president: ‘What do you think is the female equivalent of “you weren’t born in this country”?’

Echoing Trump’s claims that Clinton lacked ‘stamina’, Obama said: ‘I think the equivalent will be, “She’s tired, she’s moody, she’s being emotional”.
