Real Madrid move for Aguero, as they fight FIFA ban

REAL Madrid have got Sergio Aguero on a short-list of strikers – even though they are under a transfer ban. The Spanish giants are still lining up potential targets for next summer, as they continue to appeal the FIFA embargo on signings. Manchester City superstar Aguero is one of the names, with Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who could be available next summer after being strongly linked with the Bernabeu giants in the past off-season, also included. Aguero has three and a half years left on his contract and insists he is happy at City, who do not want to sell him. The Argentina international, signed from Real’s Madrid neighbours Atletico for £32million in 2011, was surprisingly dropped by new manager Pep Guardiola for the Champions League game in Barcelona. But he was outstanding as the Blues famously won the reverse fixture on Tuesday. “I’m never angry. I respect every manager’s decision,” Aguero said afterwards, reflecting on his Nou Camp omission. “He said it was a tactical thing and I obviously respect that. “When I went in the pitch I tried to
give my best and then train hard to be ready for the next game. But no one was in a bad mood. “I’ve experienced many different important nights, and today was another one that not only me but the whole team enjoyed. We also could feel the support from the fans, and that was important for our confidence. It was a nice game for the memories.” Guardiola, meanwhile, said pregame of the 28-year-old, who has 109 Premier League goals in 158 games for City including THAT last-gasp winner in the final game of 2011-12 to make them champions: “We need him. Without him we cannot achieve our target, it is impossible.” The Blues’ new boss even said ¬Aguero’s finishing is good as that of his former protege Lionel Messi. “In the box he is at that level,” insisted ex-Barca coach Guardiola. “To convince him, he has to believe how good he is and how we need him. He has to try. “It is not about how many he scores because we are happy with the scoring. I am talking about he has to feel how important he is for us. When he is happy the team is happy. “When he is good everything can happen in our team.”
